The wonder of worms ...

So it's still Spring time and it's still the case that Ella and Frankie are in love with finding flowers together, yet they also had a wonderful time finding lots of worms and building them little houses out of leaves last wednesday ... they had a such a beautiful time together and were in total delight with the worms and all their creations for them ...

... and when we made it to the Oak tree, it was time for more flowers of course ... I think with these two, that will be something we see weekly until the flowers have all finished up for the season ...

Under the Ogre tree ...

While we wandered down towards the Oak tree together this morning, Farrah baulked for a moment as we got close and told me she was a bit scared.   I asked her what she was scared of and she said, '...of seeing the Ogre.'  I told her there were no Ogres, that we were going to play under an amazing tree, big beautiful and quite magic to be near.  She looked up with big innocent eyes and said, 'But you said it was the 'Ogre Tree'.

How trusting she'd been to come all the way with me thinking that may have been a possibility!

Mean while once underneath, there wasn't any thought of Ogres.   Farrah, Mac, Frieda and Luke bonded quickly and a really beautiful day began between them and for each of them.

We climbed the biggest of hills and slid/bumped/ran all the way down.  This gave Luke the best chance ever to test his agility and strength and speed as he flew up to the top in no time and was back down in a flash with a smile a mile wide on his face.   He became the inspiration for the other children to find their way too.   Mac was pretty please to make it half way up and Frieda and Farrah realised if the used the fence to help, they could get as high as Luke could on his own.  If you look really close at the picture below ... that little orange dot at the top of the hill is Luke!

We played hidey behind the tree and the rocks.   We climbed the rocks and balanced and jumped and it was under the Oak Tree we had our first picnic.   Mac and Frieda and I all caught up with each other and Farrah let us all get to know her.  She was very delightful company, really bright, inquisitive, full of imagination in her play and kind and at times most entertaining.  We all really enjoyed her company.

Meanwhile round the barn, we cuddled guinea pigs and milked the cow ...

... and later in the day, we visited the pigs and patted and fed the goats and saw the horses and of course ... visited the Witches Garden for some fun and adventure.

... and by the end of the day, there were still smiles all round ... we had all had such a good time.

Snails pace ...

Oops ... a broken ducks egg ... Greta the pig was happy to eat and we were all happy to watch her enjoy!

The goats were all pretty friendly and Romy and Archie had a ball feeding them while Milana and Daisy watched on ...

Meanwhile Anna was taken watching the goats further out in the paddock reaching for gum leaves ... a favourite goat treat

... and while we wandered we encountered a snail ... fascinating to watch it make it's way along ... and a bit like our pace for most of the day and we still managed to cover the miles and have lots of fun ...

Cow milking was something everyone was into and we even got adopted for a few moments by a little boy called Raf ... he thought we were it and a bit ... and we thought he was pretty cute too ...
