Welcome ...
This blog has been created to allow family and friends to share in and become part of the experience of 'Down at the Farm'.
Enjoy the children, their love for each other and their open hearted wonder and excitement.
Over time you will get to know the farm through their eyes and will see how they spend their day with each other in a very rich, organic way.
Each vignette is a snapshot in time. Follow from one to another, then on to more and you can share in our unfoldment and journey.
Enjoy your visit ...

Three little poppets on a rainy day ...

Clara, Molly and Charlie came down to the farm to play today ... in the rain ... and loved the time they had together.
First treasure was finding some duck eggs ... well Molly and Clara did ...

This was oon followed by guinea pig cuddles.   Molly was right up for this, and that was enough for Clara ... meanwhile, Charlie just watched ... noticed every little thing they did and commented ... but watching on was close enough.

This was all happening gently and slowly as six little eyes were in wide eyed glory at EVERYTHING they saw ... every twig, every feather, every grain of dirt ... and all else.   The farm was a treasure trove of wonder.

Once we'd milled around and just taken things in ... it was cow milking time.  yet more to wonder at, and this was BIG wonder as Heather the cow is HUGE.

No hands up for milking ... just eyes wide and lots of comments about how she was 'squirting' ... that was pretty fascinating.

Hmm ... that was a lot to take in already so we decided next to picnic, in the barn and that was a perfect thing to do.  The farm was quiet and while we ate, the rain eased off and soon we were full bellied and ready to go further afield.

We puddle jumped ...

... and visited the horses ...

... then around the corner we found Nick the farmer with a farrier and we saw the horse 'getting his toenails cut' ... this was fascinating and if anyones posture said as much it just had to be Clara's ... she got down on her little haunches and held that pose while she watched and both Nick and Max the farrier fell in love with her!

Next it was more water play ... in the sand

We wandered by the sheep, played in the green grass down by the river before heading back to the barn while having a big explore of the garden together ... there was so much to see and do.  The best thing being the farm was soft and green and moist and we almost had the whole place to ourselves ... you can see more in the little slide show ...

Minus Mac

Well everyones face from friday is here except Mac's ... not sure why I missed snapping a shot of him ... though means popped into my head,  most appropriately I feel, to name him in the title for the post ... so we are minus Mac in the pics ... though of course not in our hearts!

It was beautiful nder the Peppercorn tree, shading from the sun

Frieda found her way up into the tree ...

Then came Luke who loves a good climb

Chilling out
and
being Luke

If you haven't experienced it yourself, here is a dose of the sweetness of Ari ... it's truly something else to be on the receiving end of ...

... and dear Ted ... take one look at that face and notice his mouth and I'm sure you can hear him talking ... he was of course mid story when I captured this peek ...

Faces to fall in love with ...

Milking time ...

I really felt there was so much tenderness captured in these cow milking photos ... Anita and Loriana gently encouraging and teaching and the children soaking it up and enjoying the experience ...

Samson and Kornelius

A little Samson moment

..and..

What's that little look on your face all about Kornelius?  Oh, oh ... you've just realised I've got the camera on you.   There are so many gorgeous moments with Kornelius everytime he is with us at the farm and his least favourite thing of all is having his photo taken.   I have to be really quick to capture without his knowing ...

Oli

Oli called to us all at one point in the day ... 'Look, look a peacock feather' ... all heads dropped to the ground as there are lots of peacock feathers round at the moment ... Oli looked at us all and called again ... 'Not on the ground, in the sky' ... and sure enough up we all looked to where he was pointing to see the peacock feather Oli had discovered ...

Frankie Belle

It's a wose ... hmmm ... just like you are
