Getting to know you ...

Monday was very much a day of getting to know you ...

While Molly and Lily know each other well and Roxie and Farrah are sisters, Jesse is fresh to the farm and Honeybee brand new.

Amidst the miles we walked ... and a few moments of tears when we just seemed to be too far away from anything familiar at all there were some fun moments in the childrens play.

Down the back where we'd gone to see the lambs, everyone just sort of stood for a while and took each other in.   Very cute ... getting familiar be feeling how it felt to be together and see each other.

Honeybee and Farrah bonded easily ... and was sweet seeing them figure which way to hold hands was going to be comfy.

The world felt pretty safe with a hand to hold ...

Jesse was pleased as punch to find this stump and wondered whether he could climb on top ...

Whoa .. a bit tricky at first ...

Some words of encouragement and faith from me and he kept going ...

Hey I did it!

Molly, Lily and Farrah all going for a ride ...

Roxie seeing if the couch she found was comfy ...

Honeybee trying out the stump and wondering just how far away from anything familiar we were ... it was starting to feel a long way away ...

Jesse only to happy to share his guinea pig experience with Honeybee who wasn't quite ready for one on her own lap ... yet loved to see what they were up to ...

Lily listening so earnestly to Honeybee and look at those little hands ...

Jesse's special find on the picnic blanket.   He was thrilled and held it carefully for a while as he talked to me about taking it home.   In the end, we figured if it got taken to his home, it would miss it's family and all that it knows and might be best to stay at the farm.

Dancing feet ...

Well it seems to be in the ether's down at the farm that 'Puff the Magic Dragon' is the hit of the day.

First Yoshi ... then Ted and now most of the Friday gang know it at least a bit ... then on Thursday Sonny's request was ... 'That song ... you know the one ...'

Turned out it was Puff.

... and were we all in for a treat when I obliged and sang it for Sonny.

He rocked the house with the smoothest, funkiest, coolest dance moves of all times.

He was just awesome.  I don't know if I can really convey in words what I witnessed with Sonny, yet he felt the song fully and deeply giving a little foot tap as he settled into the groove ... and then danced like that was all that mattered in the world to do, his whole heart in it and his body moving with love and passion for the chance to dance.

A photo was out of the question ... I was providing the sound and Sonny soon had everyone in absolute joy as he shared his dance.

He then ended up telling me that he and Beau and Mum and Dad all dance at home together.   How gorgeous is that!

... next thing, the song was requested again and Sam who'd just loved it joined in and did a Sam dance too ... all long arms and lithe and flowing ... very beautiful.

How special ...

Fresh milk ...

Boss the cat and one little chicken were more than pleased to find a bucket with some fresh milk in it ... at one point they both had their heads opposite each other in the bucket drinking ... by the time I was ready to snap they'd moved ...

Under the old Oak tree ...

Baby lambs and baby goats ...

Over the last two thursdays along with mooching along and hanging out ... we've got to meet all the new baby goats and lambs who've arrived at the farm ... very sweet indeed.

... and amongst it all, we've also found time to just hang out or enjoy some puddles ...

A little cooperation goes a long way ...

Time in the sand creating and cooperating led to this between Samson, Oli, Jyra and Cosmos ...

Now that's what I call a cubby ...

Coming together to eat in the communal space ...

... and everyone had their own room to sleep in ...

Earlier in the day, Cosmos had tended with such love and care this 'salad' ... very beautiful indeed ... it's so good to have him back at the farm and amongst us all again!

Namaste

Ari came to me, sat on my lap and chatted this morning for ages.   He turned to face me at one point and was looking at me as if he was taking in every line, ever freckle, every hair.  He gazed into my eyes as he spoke and was being very sweet.

In a moment he held my gaze and all of a sudden connected with something that lit him up and said,

'I can see me in your eyes.  Can you see you in my eyes?'

I could and just sat in the wonder with Ari for a bit and felt blessed.
