Mieka came to play
We welcomed Mieka into our group today, and what a pleasure it was. She settled in easily and everyone embraced her with open arms. Even Teddy from Danella’s group couldn’t get enough, giving her loads of cuddles.

Once again we had trouble leaving the peppercorn tree as it was way too much fun playing in the mud and making cakes. Our big adventure for the day was to the other peppercorn tree, known as the climbing tree and lots of creative games were played there too. We had a very delightful day once again.
K-man taking care of a friend
In the guinea pig house on wednesday afternoon, Kornelius was carefully watching Samson give cuddles and feed a little furry friend called 'Possum'. Samson was intent on each little blade of gras,s holding it steady and Kornelius watching as the guinea pig munched it's way through it to almost the end.
Kornelius and I had been walking out to get the fresh grass as all the other children snuggled in for cuddles. All of a sudden he asked, 'Ah-nella, can I get g'ubs for Samson's guinea pig?' Not sure I'd heard right, I asked him, 'What's that you want to get Kornelius?'
'G'ubs for Samson's guinea pig,' came the reply.
I explained, 'Kornelius guinea pigs dont' eat grubs, they like grass and carrots and apples ... things like that ... fruit and veges, not little creatures.'
Kornelius listened to all I said and replied a little dismayed, 'No, I want g'ubs for Samson's hands so da guinea pig can't bite his fingers.'
How he loves his friend Samson.

My friends the ducks and screeching in the sky ...
Anna started thursday with her eye on the ducks. She was totally delighted with them, followed one, chatted to them, chased them and was in heaven for a while ... just her and the ducks.
Guinea pig cuddles for Cosmos, Anna and Milana were a treat too. A great way to warm up with each other, the farm and for the day.
We all had the most delightful treat at the end of the day. Black cockatoos wheeled into the back paddock. Screeching on a sultry day around this time of year as they are want to make an appearance. We heard them, saw them and then watched them as the munched on the trees, flew over out heads ... low so we could see them ... and flew over the river to the gum trees on the other side. How natural and indigenous and incredibly beautiful for Anna, Cosmos, Farrah, Milana, Daisy and I.
We've hit pay dirt ...
What's pay dirt .. ? The stuff where the gold is found ... and that's exactly what Wednesday was like for Frankie,Oliver, Kornelius, Samson and Mika.
These five children travelled together for the day in a deeply bonded, caring and joy filled space.
Frankie is funny, very funny and she doesn't even mean to be. She just is, full of sweetness, kindness and quirk. You'll see it in the photos. They say more about Frankie than my words can.
Kornelius is a man of principle. He really cares to do what is caring of us all and will often ask questions about the consequence of things or how to do things. I've found him to be quite shy, if he notices the camera, he turns away with a little blush in his cheeks and often during the day lands in my lap like a little puppy all cuddly and smiley and wanting to be close.
Oliver is a lot of fun. He's bright a cheery and chats to almost anyone we meet with great interest in them and what is happening on the day. He also has a sharp with and great sense of humour and often finds me quite funny too!
Samson, gentle heart and big heart. What a darling, he sort of gets in a zone with us where all you need to do is look at Samson's face to see how things are going for us all. He also loves to get physical, climbing and jumping ... you can see him taking a leap in one of the photos.
Mika, eyes full of love and light and deep as deep can be. I find myself falling into them often. She gives her best all the time, plays with great enthusiasm and imagination on fire. Loves it when she finds a way to engage with the other children and invite them into her play and when we hit her zone, her intelligence and love for all beam at very high frequency.
The day we had play morphed and change from the girls together and the boys together, to all together to all sorts of mixes and dynamics in harmony all along.
I think the photos give you a good sense of things ... we've really found the gold with each other pay dirt ... maybe the alchemy of love.

Energy to burn ...
A very high energy day was had today….
Lots of running, tumbling, building, laughing, singing and we even had time to tickle in amongst all of that!
Overall we all had a great day. I look at the photos and think, 'Wow we did heaps today', and I guess we did!
My favourite part of the day was after walking down to the end paddocks and feeding the horses, we stopped for a rest on the path and after some stacks on Carly I managed to have four boys sitting on my lap all having a cuddle. How lucky am I. We also got to have guinea pig cuddles today which they had all been busting for, as they didn’t get to do this over the school holidays with the guinea pigs having lots of rest time to cope with the crowds …
As high energy as it was today, I look now at these photos and feel how much I love each of these wonderful boys!
Hope you enjoy sharing in our day.
