Welcome ...
This blog has been created to allow family and friends to share in and become part of the experience of 'Down at the Farm'.
Enjoy the children, their love for each other and their open hearted wonder and excitement.
Over time you will get to know the farm through their eyes and will see how they spend their day with each other in a very rich, organic way.
Each vignette is a snapshot in time. Follow from one to another, then on to more and you can share in our unfoldment and journey.
Enjoy your visit ...

Gentle, damp and beautiful

Charlie, Reuben, Francesca and Olivia milled around the barn for the early part of their visit to the farm.   The day was damp and cool and the morning, like most was beautiful at the farm.  Everything is waking up, coming out to play and feed.  We enjoyed an age at one of the duck ponds, watching the ducks bathe and preen.  It was really gorgeous as the whole process is quite gentle until thye lift up, for a good flap to shake off ... good to be standing your distance ... unless of course you don't mind a bit of a splash.

Guinea pig cuddles were also enjoyed in the early part of our day.  They are very sweet creatures and seeing the children settle in with them and cuddle and enjoy the closeness and warmth and sweet little sounds is a real delight.

We also enjoyed discovering all the lanterns, made ready for the solstice bonfire coming up next weekend.   The children were in wonder at what these beautiful things hanging in the barn were all about.

A wander down the back and we were soon in the Witch's Garden.   The magic of this place is endless ... take a peek ...

This was the sweetest gathering in the cubby ... a beautiful bonding for Charlie, Olivia and Reuben ... I'm sure if you look for a moment you can almost hear the children talking and listening with enormous respect and interest in each other ...

Meanwhile Francesca was happy chatting to me and climbing in the nearby bushes ...

... until she and Charlie took a moment to chill together ...

More climbing and playing together ...

... and a game of hide and seek ... can anyone find Olivia?

It was such a delight to experience the children really enjoying getting to know each other and being together ... also the wonder of the farm in the cool damp weather ... simple joys abound.  We spent an age watching the 'fairy ponds' in the nasturtium leaves ... tapping a leaf and watching one pool fall into another ... or just gazing at the beauty of all the pools gently collected by mother nature ...
