Me and my shadow

Today while we played in the corral down the back, Dakota started running in the sand.  She was happy, really happy and suddenly noticed her shadow alongside her.  Each time she took it in, she was spurred on to run a little faster and keep just ahead of her companion, who was at a slight enough angle to be always alongside her and just behind.

It was as if she didn't want it to catch up, yet at the same time was glad for the company while she ran.

As she ran like the wind and changed direction, she'd suddenly notice her shadow was no longer alongside her and she'd look for it, twisting and turning and changing direction until, there it was again, running with her, slightly behind and spurring her along.

Such a simple, free-spirited beautiful expression.
