Welcome ...
This blog has been created to allow family and friends to share in and become part of the experience of 'Down at the Farm'.
Enjoy the children, their love for each other and their open hearted wonder and excitement.
Over time you will get to know the farm through their eyes and will see how they spend their day with each other in a very rich, organic way.
Each vignette is a snapshot in time. Follow from one to another, then on to more and you can share in our unfoldment and journey.

Wide eyed wonder ...

Well wide eyed wonder was the flavour of the day ... everyting was amazing!
Spencer, Clara, Poppy, Lily, Molly and Loki warmed up to being together really quickly and with each step, it was ... 'Look at this, look at that ...'

Our first big animal encounter was the Peahen and her chicks ... and the children were so gorgeous ... they  were all mesmerised ... at a distance.   Watching each little peck and step.  When a blue one came along, they were busily trying to figure out which one was the mummy and which one was the daddy.   Just when we had that sorted, two more peahens appeared and that was just too many mums and dads then!

Spencer and Poppy just had to get a little closer in the end ...

Guinea pig cuddles were a favourite ... and Lily was most in love of all ... once the, 'I had enoughs' were called ... I asked her if she'd had enough and one look at her face told me, 'Not, yet' ... had I been able to let her, I think she'd still be there.

Where's Spencer in the guinea pig pics?  He's still deciding ... he was curious from a distance, then interested to have them up close ... and finally just couldn't quite let himself hold one ... yet, anyway ... which of course is just very ok.

The cow, Heather was an awesome sight to see and Loki and Poppy were right up for milking ...

By this time, we were all pretty warmed up and happy to know each other and our day unfolded with the greatest of ease.   We had banana skins to feed the goats, so a huge walk ensued to find them way down the back of the farm.

By the time we'd got back from the goats and fitted in a picnic ... the rest of the day was just glorious play. Cubbies and rolling down the hill were a huge hit.

Lily ... oops, I mean Cinderella as she kept reminding me, told me all about seeing Nanny Anney and how she got their on Virgin Blue ... I don't quite remember that chapter in the story ... though Lily/Cinderella was so happy to know I was interested ...
